Mignon Dunbar is currently in training to become a healthcare professional who performs chemical, hematological, immunologic, histopathological, cytopathological, microscopic, and bacteriological diagnostic analyses on body fluids such as blood, urine, sputum, stool, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), peritoneal fluid, pericardial fluid, and synovial fluid, as well as other specimens. Mignon Dunbar trains in clinical laboratory facilities such as hospitals, physician’s offices, reference labs, biotechnology labs and non-clinical industrial labs.

Mignon Dunbar utilized the scientific method, standard operating procedures, laboratory skills, and critical thinking to conduct independent analysis and interpretation of controlled chemical substances. She used written and oral communication abilities to write reports and present findings in court as a subject matter expert. Mignon Dunbar performed the quality assurance function of technical reviews of other analysts’ work.

Mignon Dunbar assisted the Deputy Coroners at death scenes, autopsies, and in the office by fingerprinting decedents, documenting investigations through photography and videography, updating databases, calling for records/reports, and logging medication/property/evidence to maintain chain of custody.
